Toys!

Gavin had his 2 month appointment on March 9. He weighed 9 lbs. 15 oz. which placed him in the 10th percentile, on the small side even though all this kid seems to do is eat! He measured 23 in. and is in the 50th percentile for length. Perhaps he got tall and thin genes from my side of the family that I can only assume came from my dad and the tall part missed me. Gavin also had the pleasure of getting his two month shots, poor thing. He totally ate up the oral immunization, but wasn't too happy with the three needles. At least he got some cool camouflage band-aids!

We also had to fill out a developmental questionnaire and we realized that Gavin was behind in some areas because he wasn't given time to practice certain things. Truth be told, we didn't have a lot of toys for him because we didn't realize how much he needed them. We pulled out the toys that we did have and went to Target to buy more.

This is Gavin's favorite toy. It's small enough that he can grip and fit into his mouth. He also seems to like toys that play music.

My mom had been wanting us to get a mobile for Gavin's crib, but he didn't seem interested in the one over his pack n play until recently. We found one at Target that also has a picture projected on the top of the mobile and when Gavin gets older, the mobile can be removed and the picture will be projected on the wall. It also plays music, has nature sounds, and a heartbeat function, which I find a little creepy. We stick to using music.
I actually wish we had gotten one of these sooner. Now I can put Gavin in his crib while I take a shower and the mobile usually occupies him until I am done. No more rushing because I have a screaming baby. This thing is fantastic! Oh and it comes with a remote, so we can turn it on from bed at 4am and sometimes Gavin will just go back to sleep!
This blue pad was a gift from my Aunt Carol and Uncle Harv. It's actually a diaper bag/changing pad combo and is pretty neat. However, we've been using it for Gavin to play on and have some tummy time. It's much nicer than putting him on the hard and sometimes dirty floor. Thanks to his extra time playing on his tummy, he is getting really close to rolling over. He can twist his hips around, but struggles with his upper body. I'm sure that he will soon be rolling all over the place.
