I wanted cookies one night, so Daniel and Gavin made them for me. Hold the drool, please!I really hope Daniel teaches him how to cook, since that's more his thing than mine.
Gavin is a champion at rolling from his stomach to his back. Yesterday, I put him on his back and went to get the laundry. I can back and found this...He had rolled to his stomach and I missed it!
Gavin just gave me the biggest grin. He knew he had done something grand!
Then this morning, I went to get him from his crib. Not only had a rotated 90 degree, which is normal, he had also rolled over and was against the top of his crib.We might need to think about installing that bumper. We'll see if it happens again. SIDS is sometimes linked with lack of air flow or overheating and I want to diminish any risk for as long as possible. That's why we don't have the bumper in yet, but now that he is moving so much, we might need it! It is so cute, too! :)
As a bonus, here are some other random cute pictures of our little boy.My Aunt Marie had this blanket made for him. It's labeled with his name, birthdate, birth weight, and birth length.
Isn't he just the best?! We leave for Oregon tonight. Gavin will get to meet his other grandparents, one set of great grandparents, and some uncles. They are just going to love him!

Cooking and Rolling

Bumbo
I took Gavin with me to a Pampered Chef party hosted by my friend Kristin. Her son had a Bumbo seat and she let me put Gavin in it, so my arms could be free. I decided that I wanted to get one for Gavin to help him strengthen the muscles needed for sitting up on his own. He just loves it and so does Mommy. I can put Gavin in the kitchen with me while I'm making dinner or doing the dishes and still interact with him.Gavin loves crinkle toys. I think it's the sound. He's always trying to grab for the pack of wipes when I'm changing him.
Daniel called the elephant Gavin's "nemesis". He just attacks that thing!
9 times out of 10, Gavin starts his play this way...
Then this happens...
"Mommy, why aren't you getting my toys?" And so my life as a golden retriever has begun...

Fun with Daddy
I realized that I'm always grabbing the camera to take pictures of Gavin and Daniel. I'm trying to get Daniel to take more random pictures. Here are the most recent pictures of Daniel and Gavin.Gavin loves to have conversations with Daddy.
Gavin doesn't just chew and suck on his own hands. He is an equal opportunity hand taster.
Gavin just loves flying! He can be cranky, but flying usually brings a smile.
Superbaby!
See! Lots of giggles!
We were at Megan's birthday party and Gavin grabbed Daniel's cup.
Maybe he's ready for a sippy cup...
Probably not yet. We're still planning to breastfeed for quite a while.
Gavin fits very well in Daniel's arms while at the computer. Gamer baby?
Daniel mom bought Gavin this shirt.
Dad rules until Mom comes home! That's right! :)
Another cute outfit from Tami. Great for windy days when we want to keep the windows open.
Look, more flying!
Daddy kisses!
Baby cuteness! Daddy cuteness, too!

Learning to Drive
We were in the Best Buy parking lot and Daniel decided that it wasn't too early to teach Gavin how to drive. I guess he figured that since Mommy was 20 before she got her license, he had better get a jump on getting Gavin behind the wheel. As it happens with most things, Gavin ends up licking whatever it is he is touching. Steering wheels... A taste only a baby will love!

Photos from Megan
I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted photos of Gavin. I guess that's what happens when you have a baby, full-time job, and grad school. Whew! I'm tired just thinking about how busy I sometimes am. However, summer vacation has officially begun, so I am going to try to post a lot more. I have some catching up to do on old photos and I'm sure with our summer adventures, there will be many new photos.
I'm going to kick off my summer of posting by doing a tribute to the best babysitter ever, Megan! She has taken care of Gavin for the past 10 weeks. Gavin just loved her, her dog, Wyatt, and her husband, Billy. Gavin was very well cared for and we could not have asked for a better first caregiver for Gavin.
I am borrowing the following photos from Megan.Megan helped Gavin to wish me a happy birthday. These are some of my favorite photos!
Gavin was lucky enough to be able to go on some outtings when Megan's parents were visiting.
Megan's birthday party. Gavin was too young for the pinata. Maybe next time...
Being a nerd just like Daddy!
Megan even bought Gavin a special beach outfit. However, he was cranky on beach day and just chilled under the umbrella.
Billy taught Gavin to hold his own bottle. He's getting so strong!
Gavin loved playing with Megan. He always told us such fun stories at the end of the day.
Rumor has it that right after this photo Gavin spit up all over Megan and I do mean ALL over. I can certainly sympathize.
We definitely did get lucky with Megan. Gavin had a lot of fun and even taught Megan and Billy a thing or two about babies. I'm sure they will miss him, but anytime they need a Gavin fix, I will gladly loan him out. They just better not expect any money afterward! :)
